I've changed the transmission fluid on my 2004 Impala five times now since it's clocked almost 220,000 miles. They make great replacements, and a little tip for those replacing them is to put some "proper" RTVs on the corners. just a smear is enough. The idea isn't to seal the pallet, but let the seal adhere to it while you try to secure it in place. I add dashes to all the corners and even one in the middle of the straight pieces. Then I leave it on for about 5 minutes, then add the spacer, press it in place and leave it on for another 5 minutes. Everything stays in place, allowing for easy installation without dislodging the gasket.
