Love this map on stickers, decals and car magnets

My wife and I just finished an 8 week trip that took us to 19 states (plus Ontario, Canada). I bought this map before I started the trip and we had fun adding all the recently visited states as we went. Our journey is probably neither here nor there for any of you good buyers reading this, but I have some thoughts looking back. :* You probably already knew about this, but clean the surface well before adding the basemap. This will help the card stick better and any smudges will be immortalized under this clear sticker.* Feel free to stick it on. Apply evenly from top to bottom or side to side. After applying, use a credit card or other hard ruler to smooth out any bubbles. * This works great on the side of the slider. I got this idea after seeing someone else put it on their slide. We put ours on the surface right next to our door. Placing it on a hill makes your campsite easier to see from the road and also protects it from roadside elements. I was concerned that the decals would not like the forward/backward movement of the slide, but they are very durable.* Take your time and be careful when applying individual states. I cheated on Colorado and my wife will never forgive me. (I'm not kidding)* If I had to do it all over again I would have deleted Hawaii from the map before we applied it. We'll probably go to Alaska one day, but we'll never go to Hawaii in a van. As for how this sticker set compares to others, I really like this one, but the condition cards themselves don't necessarily make for a great design. I like the idea of respecting the design of the state flags and displaying them that way, but the individual states didn't really consider the theme of this map when choosing the background colors for their flags. There are as many dark blue state flags lying side by side as the state stripe from Wisconsin to Michigan, from Indiana to Kentucky, and the outskirts of Ohio. At least the Minnesota and Dakotas seemed to mix it up a bit with their bluesy tones.

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • Good but not great
