Bad - very bad - design. It appears to be a long tube with a V notch where the heel sits. A thin, lofty, non-compressive material is sewn into the neckline (as well as along the toe end of the tube). This means that the compression fabric remaining at the top of the V-neck rotates 90 degrees in relation to the ankle without any compression gradient. This results in a very tight, narrow band with extremely high compression just above the foot. This leaves deep and painful ridges in the skin below the ankle. It also means I had to pull out my pocket knife to cut those things off my feet. What an absolute waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS.
