Review on ISC Racers Tape HT2128 Transparent by Bobby Plymell

I wanted to protect my new frame. I didn't like the options at bike shops because of the brand logos or the lack of an ability to adjust the size. I recommend ISC Racers Tape Surface Guard Tape 2" x 12' (HT2128). This 8mm material is just the right size and is designed for outdoor use. I had a hard time deciding on the thickness .My call to the manufacturer who told me that the thicker tape looks less transparent and the adhesion may be too strong (if/when it needs to be removed. It can peel paint or stickers off the minimum number of boxes. Be careful if You think you found it this may not be what you want such as thickness quality for outdoor use etc I really had a learning curve installing the tape The tools I found helpful were a hair dryer, lubricant spray solution (water and Dawn in an aerosol can), wet fingers, patience and careful planning Be sure to work on a clean surface in a dust-free environment This allowed me to work with the Play positioning or remove the tape it's easy to make new. Smoothing out each section before gluing anything more was critical to an outstanding application. By wetting my fingers, the tape, and the surface with the slip solution, I also got rid of fingerprints. It also allowed me to work on imperfections like bubbles. The hair dryer came in handy to soften the glue to remove the tape or work through the bubbles. Be careful not to rub the tape too hard while it's still warm or it will stretch in that area. The heat also allowed me to "plant" the derailleur, making the tape more flexible. I also rounded the corners on the parts I installed. I figured it might make them less prone to wear, scratches, etc. The largest piece of tape I applied was on top of my top tube. The hardest part was the fixed piece on a large part of my rear derailleur. See pictures of both in the customer pictures section. UPDATE (12/7/12): My first call to the manufacturer was a wonderful experience. I just called a second time and had a very bad experience. The admin took my call and didn't want to help - she didn't take the message, didn't advise when to call back. Just said no one can help. Then she deliberately hung up! For this reason I downgraded my rating to 4 stars. UPDATE (12/12/12): The manufacturer replied to me about how badly I was treated by their administrator. I was then put in touch with someone who could help me figure out why I called in the first place. Due to the way the company handled the situation I am changing my rating back to 5 stars.
