Excellent dexterity for removing splinters and thorns

the skin of thousands of small metal splinters as they rise and emerge from the flesh to the skin's surface. I'm also a carpenter so overall I have a lot of hands-on experience removing difficult metal and wood shavings. You can find a better chip removal tool than this one, but it will be some kind of professional tool that costs dozens of times more than this tool. I like a thin, slightly pointed tip that easily penetrates the cavity of the chip on its own or with a needle to follow the chip as it came in, as well as for picking up and removing. I've used this model, or one like it, for years, and it's incomparably better than other crude tools you might otherwise use, like eyebrow tweezers or the tweezers in your Swiss Army knife. They used to be readily available at woodworking stores if you checked them out at the register, but now they're hard to find. I like the clip that comes with this model because it protects the tip and also keeps other things off the tip when you're carrying it in your bag or medicine cabinet. It is easy to hold and manipulate with great dexterity. The tip holds the strip securely during removal and is easy to clean before and after use. You couldn't ask for a better tool in a small package. They're always part of my outdoor first aid kit for removing other nasty things like cactus thorns that broke off midway, bee stings, and anything else you might find off the beaten path. A small fishing hook is an example of what it was. It's intended for that, but what I've successfully used it for. Other tasks it wasn't designed for but excels at are handling tiny eyeglass screws and handling small, thin, fragile objects, such as glasses. B. the precise placement of stamps in a stamp album. I now have arthritis in my hands and find it easy to hold and use various tiny objects that my hands can no longer accurately handle without them.
