Cats are fickle, if he doesn't eat them he stretches. I do not know why. I use them to feed his meds, pills that I crush. He gets 3 tablets a day, 1/2 each to chew. 500mg more than the vet recommended for his FIV+. Scientific articles on lysine are not definitive. Some say it works, some say it doesn't. My old Tom seems to be better off eating them so we'll keep buying them. I used to get pasta from the vet but then he stopped eating it. Which was a bit of a disaster because not only was he not getting lysine, but he wasn't getting the meds I was giving him either. So far he has eaten the last two packets, but before that he had only eaten about half of the packets. I hope they are low in iodine. He also has an underactive thyroid and shouldn't be getting too much iodine. I haven't checked them and only noticed that it says "Fish Flavor".
