Review on Fisticuffs Pine Scent Strong Mustache by Ben Liu

Light hold but works

So, the mustache wax world is pretty confusing. There are so many brands with so many claims and there is NO standardization of features. For example, literally any of them can claim to have a "strong grip," and VERY few of them actually live up to that particular claim. Due to the inconsistency between claimed performance and delivery, and vague definitions of performance, I think you should look at mustache wax in a comparative way. First, it has a really light pine scent. This is important to note as many claim to smell certain scents that you absolutely cannot smell. The scent is quite light and not particularly noticeable after an hour or two, but quite pleasant upon first application. After the scent, we come to the more important question: how does it work? Despite their "strong grip" claim, it actually isn't a strong grip. Now, while I find this statement false and misleading, I don't consider it a negative trait. Its light hold is simply a property that should be considered and considered along with other properties of the product. The hold of the vast majority of mustache waxes depends on one factor: How hard is the wax? If the wax is soft and easy to work with, the hold will not be strong. If it's hard and you have to heat it to even dream of applying it, the lag will be severe. This wax is very easy to work with. It may seem semi-hard at room temperature, but don't worry, all you have to do is scrape it off with your thumbnail and hold it between your thumb and forefinger for a few seconds. Your body heat is enough to make it fully functional. Alternatively, if you carry it in your pocket, your body heat is already at the ideal temperature when you take it out of your pocket. This is a good mustache wax, but there's a trade-off. It just depends on your application and preferences. Applying it carefully and liberally will usually give you enough support as long as it isn't broken, but you'll likely find that you need to touch it up periodically. Heat and humidity will cause it to lose its grip fairly quickly, as will contact with places like food or drink. On a positive note, the wax is very soft and very easy to apply and reapply. However, if you're looking for all-day hold, this wax isn't for you.
