Not for the rebel 500 without some serious knowledge and mechanical ability. The engine mount is different on the rebel 500 and if you use the supplied threaded rod you’re weakening the mount. There are two bolts which hold the engine mount to the frame and by removing one of them to put this rod through, you never get the clamping force for the engine mount plate. Also your horn won’t have anything to mount to.Instead go out and buy two grade 8 bolts about 1/2” longer than the stock bolts in order to accommodate the crash bar mount thickness and accompanying flange nuts.Next problem? The rebel 500 engine is much wider than the rebel 300, meaning those sandwich plates at the top of the bars have absolutely NO clearance thanks to the Valve cover. The solution? Before you bolt the bottom of the bars on, you have to slide everything up out of the way of the cylinder head and tighten the INSIDE bolts up while leaving the outside bolts at their loosest. Then carefully with a rubber mallet tap everything downward to where you can align the cross bar and put the bottom mounting bolts in (which you bought, instead of the supplied long threaded rod). Then assemble and tighten the OUTER bolts on the upper assembly. It’s hard. you need to know what you’re doing and be patient in order to mount these to the rebel 500.
