Review on Brooks Catamount Grey Nightlife Black Sports & Fitness by Robert Morrison

Preferred running shoes are street or trail.

I've run nearly 300 miles on trails in the Colorado Front Range and Rocky Mountain and for the terrain we're seeing it's almost the perfect shoe. I've run on dry, hard ground, dust, gravel, rocks and snow and they handled it all with ease and stayed comfortable for distances of up to 20 miles - I wouldn't hesitate to run 50km or more in them. . At 300 miles they are holding up well and I have no doubt they will do at least 200 more miles. The only caveat I would make is that they aren't very good in the mud - the lugs are too short and clog. Turn them into skates - if you're a regular mud skater I'd say look elsewhere. Everyone else, try it.

Pros
  • Rubber outsole
Cons
  • Not bad
