This is a nice tool but not consistent from one stripper to the next. You have to constantly fiddle with the dial to strip the wire, and it's only 14 gauge wire. Pliers just can't cut. 10 Gauge goes far beyond its capabilities. I can crumple the wire and that's it. Then I have to bend the bare wire several times to break it off. I feel sorry for the fools who leave 4 and 5 stars and don't even use them. My old wire stripper is faster and more reliable. This type is said to be faster and less damaging to the wire when cutting. They don't appear to dent the copper, but when the retaining jaws eventually seize, they sometimes bite into the copper wire, leaving cuts in the jaws. They come back and I get a famous brand that works.
