Good idea but leaves a lot of room for improvement

I would like to start by saying that I bought this unit mainly because someone I know has it. They work fine. It holds small phones well in the holder. With these phones, the only complaint is that the screen doesn't face the direction you face it. Since I'm not looking at the screen I didn't notice much of a difference that it vibrates very slightly due to the optimal viewing angle. If I had a smaller phone I would probably give it another star or two. My problem is that it doesn't fit big phones. The lower part comes out at an angle. Again, this is normal on smaller phones. However, many phones get taller as they get taller, not much wider. If the corner pieces come out at an angle, this will result in them not really grabbing the corners. As in the picture, there is quite a bit of space. The photos show the Galaxy s20 ultra phone. The last shot shows him all the way to one side, which he can slide to that point by simply shaking the mount with the phone in it. I have no doubt that the vibrations on the road won't get him to that point. Once it's at that point, it's actually very easy to pull the phone out using the latch on the back. As you can see in the last picture it barely touches the corner. Now it takes a little twist on the phone to get it out, but it still comes out. Does it fall on the street? Maybe, maybe not. This is not the chance I want to take to find out. I wanted something that would hold the phone securely. That's not it. I cannot remove my phone from the holder when it is fully locked. The fact that I'm not sure if my phone won't crash at the side of the freeway is a definite deal breaker. The design needs a little tweak to make it more secure. The handlebar clamp is actually very good. It can be clamped in well and firmly and is relatively easy to install and remove if necessary. It needs assembly, but at least it's easy to assemble. All in all, if I had a smaller phone it would probably make a decent handlebar mount.
