Some debate whether it matters or not - I find it provides enough directional focus to extend my range by 20% and significantly improve my signal. Remember that the direction of the bird is very important. So when you take off or land, decrease your altitude significantly to stay within signal range. I like the way it folds here. And yes, the brass sticker has a clear film on it and needs to be removed - it would be nice if they extended the clear plastic tab to make it easier to grip the edge. .
