Review on ☕ Brew Rite Coffee Filter Discs - 3" and 3.5" - White by Brooke Parker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

These filters work well most of the time.

After reading several reviews of the one star Melitta disc filters I decided to try them with my Presto 12 cup coffee maker. The filter covers all openings in the 3 1/2" basket. The round perforation allows the disc diameter to be reduced to 3" for smaller baskets (Note: if you have a Presto percolator, 3 1/2" will fit). The filters come in a stack and it takes some skill to separate each filter. The filter can be used with regular grocery store ground coffee.A more challenging filter test is to grind beans with an inexpensive electric coffee grinder (like Krups) that usually produces very fine grinds under the blade. I tried different beans and found that these filters were effective in holding the fine grind of an electric coffee grinder. Finally, I poured a tablespoon of ground espresso directly onto the filter and then added coarsely ground beans. The coffee spilled clear with no coffee residue to speak of Overall I'm happy with these Brew Rite filters ieden and will order again. Updated 8/2/20: I've been using these filters for over a year now. If you are looking for a percolator filter that will keep your total grind at all times, you will be disappointed. These filters work less well than the conical or basket filters used in drip coffee makers. It's not uncommon to find a little ground or fine residue at the bottom of a glass. Please check before ordering if a 300 pack is available, the cost per filter can be much lower.
