I've worn a braided belt for many years. I hate looking for a bolt hole and the holes never seem to be in the right place. Straps are always either too tight or too loose. The problem with braided belts is that they wear out quickly. Thin leather braid does not last long. I saw an advert for sliding belts somewhere on the internet and came to Revain to check them out. I bought this and another cheaper belt to compare (Marino Genuine Leather Men's Ratchet Belt with Linxx Buckle Enclosed in an Elegant Gift Box - Made to measure: up to 44" waist - Vintage Gold Buckle with Brown Leather). Overall love I like this belt a bit better than the others. The leather of the belt itself feels a little thicker. The buckles themselves work the same way. This belt has less space between the end of the ratchet bar and the end and at least fits my work pants a little better at the waist. I don't notice the difference with jeans because the belt loops are positioned differently than my work trousers. How is this belt better than the other, why four stars instead of 5? Just because of the price. For me, the difference is I think not as big Certainly not nearly twice the price of another belt ($45 vs. $25) We'll see how they fare over the course of the year r keep time. If this belt lasts significantly longer than the others I will update the rating to 5 stars.
