The cap is quite beautiful, the material is thin but strong enough. I didn't really like this style but I use it around the house and sleep so it's ok. I actually use weird scraps of fabric to tie the hat tighter around my head when I wear it around the house, it helps hold it in better to be honest I have such a small head. I needed a hat to protect my clothes and bedding when doing my hair oil treatments. I have very dry and brittle hair due to illness, so protecting my hair from further damage is incredibly important. I sleep on silk pillowcases and use silk handkerchiefs whenever possible to avoid breakage, so I needed something equally smooth and chafe-free for my hat. Unfortunately, only the outer part of this hat is silky soft. The inside feels more scratchy, more like acetate (like the inside of a really cheap polyester satin garment). For this reason I have doubts that it is real silk. My Alaska Bear Silk Pillowcases are made from real mulberry silk and the inside of these pillowcases won't scratch like a hat. The inside of the pillowcase feels a little less smooth than the outside, but it doesn't scratch in any way, so I suspect this product isn't what it claims to be. I can't just wear the cap inside out because of its design, so there's no easy way around the scratches and it's difficult to keep using it.
