My son gifted me two small 8" Tramontina pans for easy frying of eggs. When I received them I couldn't believe their high quality. These are definitely professional frying pans. With a little oil, the eggs glide easily over the surface and are easy to turn with a slight tug. They are cleaned with some washing-up liquid and a couple of sponge cloths. Melted cheese in omelettes, quesadillas, and grilled cheese sandwiches is also instant. Even the packaging of the pans convinced with a well thought-out combination of cardboard and thick bubble wrap. This 12-inch pan is identical, only larger. It's a pleasure to use. Again, all three pans are the best I've ever had. These include Kirkland, Anolon, Calphalon, and cheap green pots advertised on TV. There is no comparison. Much better than all of this for the reasons stated. My wife uses this 12 inch skillet to fry ground beef for tacos. Works great with even heat. Again, it's very easy to clean up afterwards. The other pots I used for this dish were difficult to clean, so I bought this one. The price is reasonable too. I always wash them by hand, by the way. Update July 1, 2019 This pan is holding up well. This morning I made a large five egg swiss cheese omelette to share with my wife and I. The cheese melted on the side and browned on the bottom of the pan. I thought I had a tough cleaning job ahead of me, but no! I pour water into the pan once it cools and let it soak for five minutes. I was then able to easily wipe the pan down with a sponge and dish soap. Then rinse quickly. No problem. Very easy cleaning which could be a lot of work on a regular frying pan. Update August 27, 2019 My wife grilled a steak for our 13 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. Yes, I know he's spoiled, but it's hard for us to feed him. However. look at the before and after photos. I cleaned this pan with hot tap water and a sponge in exactly 1 minute and 42 seconds. Easy and quick cleaning. I like it. Update October 25, 2020 We use this pan daily and after 1 1/2 years of use the non-stick coating is starting to peel off. I've always used plastic spatulas carefully. I took care of it, hand washed it just with a sponge. I'm not sure if I should be thankful it took so long or cry. Please understand my sadness, I will miss my dear kitchen buddy.
