Was disappointed in the lack of instructions on how to upgrade the Helix 7 I was planning to use it on. I had 3 technical calls and a direct message with support. First I had to update my version from 1.64 to 2.30 on the micro SD card. Bought the 128mg kit from Costco, downloaded the update from the website and the unit wouldn't read (downloading that micro sd card is archaic). When they called tech support they said they only recognize 32mg cards that ran on staples and got a 32mg card that had downloaded an update and still wouldn't say update tech, me need a V2 that I think is good enough to email me. finally downloaded, but on startup it writes the wrong version. Called tech support a third time (mind you I didn't contact tech support on any call, after a long wait I was given an option to call back which I preferred but didn't have to wait long for that). So the tech says yes, invalid means it's updated to 2.30. I also stated that no new software will be downloaded to the device, she stated that you have to leave the micro sd card to use it unless I missed it, I've never had this in the seen instructions. So a lake that I visit often is constantly being dredged and the depths are deep in many areas and this is not updated.
