It's an Ethernet cable - it works fine as one.But do not buy this cable if your use case involves cutting off the plug to make it fit someplace with the intention of putting a new end on the cable when you're done fishing it through. The cable does not strip easily with traditional crimping tools - you'll either hardly make a dent or cut clean through. The wires are frail and bend or break easily, and don't stay in one place when you attempt to arrange them. But worst of all - in a move that I can only assume was done out of spite - none of the striped wires are actually striped - they're all white and you're supposed to intuit their color by the wire they're next to.I tried my best to terminate the cable, which admittedly wasn't that great, but an acquaintance of mine who had spent many long years running Ethernet and had crimped thousands of Ethernet cables also tried his hand and couldn't terminate it either. So yeah, if you get the cable, consider the cable "as-is". My rating reflects my frustration and the fact I now have a useless $17 forty-nine foot jump-rope.
