I've only recently started vacuum sealing products and used to have one of the fairly common cheap sealers. I've looked into this one, although for me that's the key feature of this one compared to many others. The one that has a slot to just insert a vacuum bag instead of a lid to press the bag down is a game changer for me. The other guy always felt awkward getting the bag into position and keeping it from sliding while trying to push the lid down to form a seal. However, it's just insert, press down. Very easy to use compared to other styles, at least for me. The lack of a lid that can be opened and closed also makes it much more efficient. And in case you spill something, it has a nice detachable drip tray that can be cleaned quickly. I haven't had any real problems with performance. It vacuums and seals both wet and dry food relatively quickly. I've only used the external mount on a few cans so far, but it works well too. The only real downside to this seal is that the capacitive buttons are too easy to press. This is not the main issue just to point out. And it gets pretty noisy when it's actually vacuumed, too. I don't really care, but I think it's loud enough that some people might find it annoying. All in all, I'm glad I took it. It works great and works much better for my needs than the closed ones.
