I have a KW208. 1) No need to install battery. So I think it can measure a partially discharged battery as the tester needs power. This may be a scam for some. On the other hand, this can be a plus since you don't have to worry about the tester itself. 2) This model doesn't have a download option, but it's not a big deal for the homeowner. So it works, but you need to know the car battery type, CCA and tester functions.
