The packaging of this kit is poor. It makes it look kinda cheap. The set works really great! As described, you get: a smart multimeter (with permanently attached leads coming out of the bottom of the case and a non-contact voltage tester on the top of the case); GFCI socket tester; and a non-contact voltage detector (with adjustable sensitivity). You should follow the manual until you get used to the multimeter's setup sequence. You press the power button to switch between modes: Autotest (adjusts itself to AC or DC voltage); continuity (sound); non-contact voltage; HAC; VDK; ohms (resistance); Hz (frequency); and capacity. Press and hold to turn off or wait for it to turn off automatically after a few minutes. The non-contact voltage detector flashes and makes noise when voltage is detected. The sensitivity is adjustable. It is sensitive enough to detect when held to an outlet near a hot terminal (detects hot AC only, not neutral or ground). You can lower the sensitivity to determine which group of wires is hot. The GFCI exit tester is the usual bad connection checker and a button to launch the GFCI for testing. He doesn't need batteries. The non-contact voltage tester kit contains branded AAA alkaline cells and for the multimeter branded LR44 cells. You can put all the batteries in to keep them as fresh as possible. Everything works fine and seems solid, except you can't use alternate leads on the multimeter without rewiring. Recommended.
