I made templates out of cardboard and circled them on the white backing of the vinyl roll. (TIP: If you're tracing on the white "glue" backing, you'll need to trace the numbers backwards.) I cut them out with sharp scissors, carefully scraped off the underside, and glued them to the mailbox, doing the rest of the paper slowly peeled off. The numbers I made are 4 inches high and 2 inches wide and my mailbox is huge. 3 ml feels like the thickness of a thick construction waste bag. If you get confused with the placement, the adhesive is forgiving and allows you to remove it very carefully and try again. After the third try, the glue is starting to come off the edges, so I don't recommend it. Time will tell how well it holds up. I'm tired of spending so much money on just a set of house numbers. The roll is big enough to last a lifetime. made a set for both sides of my mailbox and for my garage door and have enough left over for other spots. Updating PO Box Numbers still looks good. No fading or peeling
