Review on πŸš€ High-performance Spare Tire Hoist - JSD 924-526 for F-150, F-250, and Lincoln Blackwood - Winch 2L3Z1A131AA by Noah Jess

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Fits my 2004 F150 historic truck. Fast installation.

I was the second owner of the legendary 2004 F150 truck and the previous idiot owner installed a keyed device, apparently to prevent tire theft. Unfortunately, he never told me or gave me a key that would fit on the end of the crank. Luckily, I lit the scope's LED light, ran it over the tube/rail to the lift mechanism, and found the problem. Had to use an angle grinder to cut off the old lift and remove the spare tire. The swap was quick even though the new block's tubes/nuts were unthreaded. Before installing I used 2 old self tapping screws to rethread both holes on the workbench first. The easiest way to do this is on a bench. After that, the installation took only 5 minutes under the car. Now my factory Ford spare wheel handle fits perfectly in the lift. Mounts the spare wheel back under the truck. Works well. Very happy with the replacement parts. I recommend it to others. UPDATE 8/1/2019 I had to change a tire and lowered the spare tire by putting it on my truck. I returned the spare wheel lifter to its normal position as I couldn't ride well when it was dragging across the road. Fixed the original tire and when I went to put the spare tire back under the truck (which is lift mounted) THE LIFT WILL NOT lower! I struggled with it and tried lowering it but to no avail. I removed it from the car and put the socket wrench in the crank hole while pulling on the cable. He still didn't move, but about an inch. I'm very disappointed as I now have to buy another one. Next time I will choose another brand if available.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
