It's great for big houses

I don't know what the problem is with people and this extension cord. I use it as a wired hotspot to extend my Wi-Fi network in my 4,600 square foot home on three levels. I have a Max Stream router in the middle of the house on the first floor and there are two of them, one on the second floor and one in the basement. I'd say it's probably signal overkill, but then again, I don't need to look for coverage either. With one router in the middle of the house on the ground floor, one in the basement, and one on the 2nd floor, I have solid 4-bar WiFi coverage throughout the house, including outside of our patio and front yard. This was a major argument that my wireless security cameras in front of the house had an excellent signal. When connected as an access point, you get gigabit backbone speeds to the router. Your most important feature in combination with a MaxSpeed router is the unhindered radio coverage when roaming. In combination with a MaxStream router you only need one SSID for fast WiFi roaming. I have 70 devices at home connected via wired network and WiFi and there have been no bottlenecks since installation. I had Linksys products before Cisco owned them and have never had the product fail or be difficult to install. I know what I'm doing with network setup and have never used the wizards, so this feature has never failed. When used properly with the right gear, they work great.
