Review on πŸ’‘ NSL LTSPRO 3 Color Temperature (2700K, 3000K, 4000K) - 9 inch Black Finish Dimmable LED Task Light - Under Cabinet Lighting by Jason Hayes

Very slim design with lots of good quality light

I replaced the fixture with two T4 fluorescent tubes. The old light's plastic lens turned yellow (UV from the tubes?) and that was a huge improvement. It gives a good even light and it's enough for a lamp under the counter. It's noticeably brighter than the original device at low settings. The selectable color temperature is a nice feature and all settings are usable. Being able to buy this in multiple lengths is a nice plus. Fixings can be linked together to give more length, but I haven't tried that. The case is made of relatively light aluminum and overall the mechanical quality seems to be acceptable. Looks expensive, $150. If it was under $100 I would give it four stars overall. Installation will be a little difficult if you can't use the center hole. To do this, unscrew the two self-tapping screws to remove the cover, then knock out one of the holes. Be careful when knocking out one of the holes, as the aluminum housing can easily deform. Some knockouts are partially blocked by an electronic "ballast" on one end. With everything connected and the cover back in place, the bracket is secured with two small screws. The included screws are great for wood, but I recommend pre-drilling. The steps of punching the hole and connecting the wires are not that easy when the work has to be done with the bracket mounted upside down under the cabinet. The description mentions that the jig has 3/8 inch knockout holes. Fixed installation must be done with some type of 3/8 armored cable. If you are considering adapting it to the more common 1/2" flex cable, be aware that the mount is so thin that there is not enough room to punch a 1/2" hole. 2 inch fittings. Comes with a straight compression fitting for 3/8" cable. In my case I needed an angle fitting but I couldn't find it.
