Review on Alla Lighting Headlights Conversion Upgrade by Keith Howe

This is probably the best value a Chevrolet Colorado owner can make. The headlights that came with my new 2021 Colorado LT were really pathetic and probably the worst thing about the truck. I hated her and knew immediately that a solution had to be found and it was. The YouTube installation video was good, but the actual installation was more of a hassle than it looked. The biggest challenges were getting the LED modules "square" into the reflector for optimal lighting / figuring out how to adjust the angle with the hex wrench on the high beam bulbs, noting that one of the low beam LEDs actually had to be cranked. down to fully lock and place directly into the reflector. And inserting cable connectors and ballast (a small metal box) into the case was difficult and tedious. Completely remove the passenger side top cover, do not leave as shown in the video. It's just a clip and screw, and not worth leaving. DO NOT drop one of the bulbs into the driver side slot or you will fish them out with the trolley wire like I did lol. So be patient and maybe give yourself an hour. The actual lighting layout will be slightly different than factory fitted LEDs as they give you a lot of side light, more than usual. I actually like it because it can be used to see an animal ready to run outside and peek around corners in dark places. The beam length is a little shorter than a real factory LED assembly, but still way better than the pathetic stock bulbs. My biggest concern is durability. I can see that the LEDs have fans, but the assemblies are completely covered by a cap on the headlight assembly, so I'm wondering how long they will last with a heat box like this. I plan to purchase an additional set of replacement bulbs. Overall, it's no small feat, but worth it for those who really like night-watching.
