This ended up working fine but I had trouble installing it and had some issues. I couldn't use it horizontally as in the picture because the clip would clamp the cables for my switches, I didn't think of that when ordering. I rotated the clamp 90 degrees and used it to secure the vertical portion of my frame under the seatpost and it worked, but I had to drill a hole in the metal arm for the screw, it would be better if they were pre-drilled for vertical installation. Also, the screws that came with it weren't very good, they came loose very easily and just seemed like the wrong kind of screws. I would suggest using different screws depending on what you are attaching them to. Once installed, it supports the weight of the bike but feels a little springy. I think it's pretty solid and reliable, but it really isn't. On the plus side, the clamping mechanism is very easy to tighten and loosen and holds the bike securely.
