I have a long to medium haired Australian Labradoodle that comes out on large mats about twice a year. I've done a lot of research and bought a lot of brushes specifically for haze removal and this is by far the best brush I've invested in. This brush looks simple and is similar to other brushes you can find at pet stores, but I can honestly say it's not the same. From the perspective of the two sides (which are meant to serve different purposes) I can't see any difference as they behave the same. So I don't care, and after careful guessing it looks the same. If you have a medium to large dog, get a larger brush. Your hand will thank you. I first bought the small one as a tester and have now switched to this large brush. Worth every penny. My only advice for rough and thick tangles is to spritz on the detangling spray and let it sit for about a minute and the detangling will be like cutting through butter. Enjoy!
