The lamp is sleek, understated, beautiful and just what I needed. And that's why I gave five stars. But for your information, this is not a bright-bright lamp. Doesn't light up the room. It is best suited for lighting a small desk. Consider working underneath. Consider mounting it to the edge of a table and then the center of your workspace will be no more than 30 inches away. If you want your lighting to look festive, look elsewhere. Update September 2021: I bought the lamp in June 2021. In August, the switch opted for the outage. The lamp now behaves like a flash. There is NO obvious way to test the bulb or otherwise tamper with the bulb to find the source of the problem. In the near future it will live in my basement and eventually end up in a landfill. I'm going to buy my next table lamp at a lamp shop within twenty miles. They will serve what they sell and it's worth it.
