Review on High-Performance Pro-Billet HEI Distributor by MSD 8365 by Bobby Frazier

You will be disappointed

Installed in an SBC that had no major modifications. When I tried to set Initial + Mechanical, the timing became unpredictable - jumping around. I found that it wasn't my time gauge and when I rode it it just stopped pulling at 3000 rpm and the tachometer became erratic. Went to the MSD forum and did whatever they asked to fix this issue only to get to the point where they finally asked me to post it back. I did and they replaced the circuit board. Got it back and everything is exactly the same. Note that I installed another HEI design that didn't have enough mechanical parts (that's why I wanted this one) and it worked great. So I get "fixed" 8365 again, it does the same thing. I found out that you can replace the MSD PCB and use regular GM circuits. So I took the board out of the HEI, which worked great, and replaced the MSD board. It worked. But $350 got me nothing but the mechanical ability to change the mechanical feed, and I could have done it for a lot less money! The board in the 8365 was a version 7 board. 3 months later - MSD asked me to supply this design a second time. A month after sending it back and two requests for information, I still don't know anything. Wow.
