The complexity of the side zip for young learners outweighs all other pluses. Bought for 5, will soon be 6 years old. Liked the look and the practical material for playful, busy kindergarten children. Had to send back though as little hands couldn't easily unzip the side zip. This is especially true because the zippered belt is a fitted style that looks gross but is impractical or impossible to do without the help of an adult. I absolutely loved everything else about the outfit, although sooo will try again in a year or two. The eldest daughter was 39-40 inches tall, about 40 pounds.
