I managed to break the internal trigger support on my XB1 controller after an unfortunate leak that I may or may not be responsible for. I found that one of the two loops that the trigger pin goes through broke because the trigger was slightly bent and wobbling a lot. With this part I was able to do a perfect repair. What you will need: Pliers. torx bits. (Don't try to use regular Torx's, they have a center pin to try and stop you.) Kind of a plastic pry tool, I used a 2mm bass guitar pick. A small punch (optional, pliers will do too). Clean work surface. Here's what you need to do: (NOTE: I highly recommend only using one trigger at a time if you've managed to break both. That way you'll have a reference to one when you're stitching the other together.) 1. Use your plastic tool to reach into the grip panels on either side of the controller and remove them. It takes a bit of effort, don't freak out, but don't worry either because the lugs are quite hard.2. Remove five T8 security Torx screws from the back of the controller, including one hidden under a sticker in the battery compartment (this will void your warranty).3. Remove the front and back panels, remove the sync button/USB brackets and then the switch/bumper bracket. These brackets are held in place by tabs, try noticing how they come loose. (NOTE: Be careful while here, the circuit board and connectors are fragile. They sit in slots and are held in place by the controller shell.) Unscrew the T6 Security Torx from the broken trigger and remove the trigger cover and the screen motor. Take a small punch or pliers and push out the pin, then carefully remove it with pliers. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE TRIGGER SPRING, IT CAN EASILY BE LOST! 6. Finally, remove the magnet from the trigger mount you want to replace, you will need it in the new one. (NOTE: I'm not sure if the orientation of the magnet matters, I might get lucky assembling my back so you can pay attention to which side is which when it comes out, there's an indentation on one side.) To assemble, just follow the steps in reverse order! Make sure the spring is set the same as the other trigger. Properly aligning the spring, pin, and new trigger guard with the controller frame mounts is the trickiest part of the entire job. It's also a bit tricky to reattach the motor hum and reattach the trigger cover before reinstalling the T6 screw. Note that the trigger rumble motor wires run between a small pair of connectors on the controller frame, referring to your untouched trigger. nothing if you are in the controller! When you need to watch instruction videos on YouTube visually. I'm an engineer who writes technical manuals regularly when I'm not breaking controllers like an idiot, so I hope this helps someone! Much luck!
