The edges of the mat fold up during installation to catch spills.
Although the overview photos show the mat flat prior to installation as if easy to pour, once installed there is a fluid retention lip all around the leading and trailing edges of the mat which will fold during installation. A good product that lost sales probably due to a flat image with poor visibility. The liquid barriers left and right naturally follow the shape of the Tesla trunk.
