I own a DM-620 and love it. But I left it out of state and needed another recorder ASAP. Spending $140 didn't make me happy, but I'm an Olympus fan, so I did it. Retractable USB. Seriously, what are people thinking? This may be connected to my laptop, but to a PC? no Will I crawl behind my tower? Well, actually I didn't have to and wouldn't have fit into the space provided for the plugs. I have USB ports on the front but they are recessed for cables. I could not download the recorder to my computer. I had to hunt and buy a dual USB connector (male-female) and then everything was fine. But how annoying and inconvenient. Seriously Olympus? What did/are you thinking about? The device itself is almost weightless, 2.5 ounces. Almost to the cheap price. This doesn't bother me when packing, but some weight makes it easier to hold the item. . It runs on an AAA, DM-620 uses two AAAs. Luckily I was able to use an alkaline battery until I found the cable. I haven't switched back yet, but I will. The traditional Olympus quality is present in the sound. It has three microphones, noise cancellation and many features that I haven't used yet. The sound counts, that's why I give it 4 stars. But user-friendliness should be the priority there. If recording is part of your business, you don't want the hassle of plugging your device into anything.
