They are well made but not very heavy. Not for moving heavy objects or stacking.

Photo on one leg of the tile for scale, with the cat included My cat agrees. The largest of them weighs 12 pounds and has some spare space. They are well made but not very heavy. I wouldn't fill them with books and pick them up from above. I would also avoid stuffing them with heavy stuff and stacking them on top of each other. They smell a bit like weed when you first open them, but that's not unpleasant.
