It was cheaper than the Motion Pro when I bought it. (This isn't the case now, so check prices before you buy.) It certainly makes life easier. Measuring the oil level takes only a few seconds and you can be sure that your measurements are accurate. Just in case, I checked the rust with a tape measure. The tool itself works. I think the more important question is whether or not to buy a tool rather than using a tape measure or ruler. I completely changed the oil in both forks. My owner's manual lists the amount of fork oil (in mL) to add and the air gap dimension. I admit that when I just added volume, the air gap fitted perfectly. I could easily test this with a tape measure rather than this tool. I could do without this tool, but it would be nice to have it on hand just in case. Hopefully I won't have to change the fork seals again any time soon, so I'm not sure if this tool is worth buying. As I said, this tool works, so I still give it 5 stars. If you have a lot of bikes or frequently service your forks for whatever reason, it's definitely worth it.
