Not for first cross stitch
I don't think this is a good choice for first cross stitch, even though it's pre-printed. Has lots of metallic filaments that can be painful to work with. It may be worth buying a higher quality metallic filament and using Thread Magic to cover the filament. Knowing the needle prick will also be of great help! I used Q Snap with it and it worked fine.
