Copper Plus Spark Plug Champion RJ19LM fits many smaller engines as an upgrade to Champion's J19LM spark plug. Sparks and less electrode wear. Despite what some other reviewers have stated, this plug is NOT PRE-RESTRICTED! When installing new spark plugs, it is important to carefully check the spark plug gap. Aligning the center electrode with the ground electrode is important to maintain proper spark shape and extend spark plug life. To properly align the electrodes, bend the side electrode so that it lies DIRECTLY over the center electrode. After aligning the electrodes, check the electrode gap with a spark plug gauge. I use the pass-or-fail method, where the .025" gauge "passes" through the gap and the .030" gauge does not. Preparing a new spark plug before installing it will ensure long service life and trouble-free engine operation. Installed this plug on a 20" Sears Eager 1 (Tecumseh) 4.5hp mulching mower. The 25 year old engine starts right away and runs smooth and confident all day.
