I have had this modem for a long time, there is definitely a difference between a cheap winmodem and a hardware modem. The connection is fast and stable and I get speeds of over 50,000. Setup was easy too, and it also has built-in jumpers for manually changing comports. At first I wasn't sure if Creative makes good modems, but now I'm convinced that not only do they make good sound cards, but their modems are top quality and inexpensive. If you're looking for a reliable modem at a price lower than 3com, look no further than the Modem Blaster. It works great in Win98 + WinME and never had any problems.
