It's a bit bulky. The pipe is rigid and too short, making it difficult to attach the inlet and outlet pipes inside the tank. The filtration stages are in the wrong order - instead of flowing through the biomedium last, the water flows through it first and then the mechanical medium - this is an illogical setup that will clog the biomedium. I fixed this by placing two aquaclear 20 sponges on top of the biomedium. However, essentially all filtration takes place in one chamber, thereby under-utilizing Oase's unique mechanical filter tooling in the second chamber for its intended purpose. Cleaning the filter is also cumbersome. You must remove the entire block along with all of the tubes as there is simply no easy way to separate the tubes. And even if you separate them, there are no shut-off valves, so the water flows like a siphon. the hose is so short. And even if you manage to put the filter on the surface, it won't stand up straight because the tube is too stiff and this very light filter tends to one side. He is calm. At first it makes noise as air is expelled from the system for a few minutes, and then it's silent. I actually think the build quality is pretty good too and it looks good - it's cute. It's hard to rate this because once it's up and running there won't be any more problems. I don't recommend it for aquariums over 10 gallons because it's tiny, but for its main purpose, filtering, it's pretty good. In fact, I pre-select it to any back filter - AquaClear (too much bypass), Tidal (skimmer not safe for shrimp or nanofish), etc. for tanks 10 gallons and smaller. other areas - short hose, no quick and easy way to disconnect the hose, no check valves and no mounting bracket. The filter level order is also confusing, but I think that can be fixed. I really like this filter, but Oase just cut too many corners with this one, making it too easy to maintain.
