Review on Permatex 25247 Fabric Repair Kit by Oscar Berry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An inexpensive way to fix an ugly hole in a fabric seat.

I used this to secure a burnt cigarette to a fabric car seat. It worked well for this application and I'm very happy with the results. Took me about 20 minutes including reading the instructions. The patch is visible and can be seen if you look, mostly due to the difference in texture. However, most people don't notice it at first glance and it looks a lot better than a burn hole. I believe the results depend on the effort and attention to detail you put into applying the patch. The kits contain several small containers of colored powdered fibers, a small piece of lining fabric, fabric glue and a plastic applicator stick. , strainer and empty blender jar. Small containers are a bit difficult to open due to their small size. The application pen is really flimsy and I would recommend using something like a popsicle stick for a major repair. Otherwise I have no complaints. The kit is pretty easy to use. The instructions are sufficient. The only tricky part is blending the fibers to match the color of the fabric. There is a guide to help you approximate the right color, then you need to use some trial and error to match the color for an exact match. I managed to match the color almost perfectly after several attempts.
