Review on Dimmable Microwave Oven Bulb Under Microwave by Frank Chinchilla

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely no quality control

Pros: Cheap and a little brighter than an incandescent bulb but that's where it stops. The company was kind enough to send more for free, but I don't trust the design anymore. Cons: Look at the photo. This happened to my Whirlpool microwave. right performance. Correct landing. Correct settings. Bad design. The circuitry inside the lamp must be of poor quality. My microwave has never been harmed by another lightbulb. Just those cheap LEDs. I thought everything was ready then I decided to disassemble it and see what happens. Fortunately, everything else on the mainboard is fine. The lamp shorted out at the base, made a hole (see picture), passed it through the positive poles to the diode, and burned out the circuit board lead. Luckily the diode blew and didn't destroy anything else. So why are there two lightbulbs in the picture? Both lamps failed on their own well before 15,000 hours. (Only 1 year!) Result: Solder in a new diode and back to the bulb. Sigh. Was so hopeful.
