Review on ๐Ÿน Zacro 8.7in Silent Running Wheel for Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice and Other Small Pets - Hamster Exercise Wheel by Tracy Thrash

Fantastic wheel but no wall mount

I read in some other reviews that no wall mount is included. But because it looked so good I took a chance and bought it anyway as there were many diagrams to suggest there was a wall mount. After purchase I sent a message to the seller and it was discovered that the product information on Revain was incorrect. As such, the product information has since been amended to no longer include all wall mounting diagrams, but it appears all references to them have not been removed. So I wanted to make it clear to future buyers that IT DEFINITELY DOES NOT WALL MOUNT. Some of the product information is incorrect, but some of the images that suggest it includes a wall mount still contain important information about the product itself, and I suspect that's why they haven't been removed. The rest of the steering wheel is extremely quiet. I kind of like that it's clear because I could hold something in front of the wheel for my hamster to run after. So if you either don't need a wall mount or think you can find a way to get by without one then I highly recommend this product. I think I might end up changing my entire cage layout to accommodate not being able to mount this wheel because it might be good enough to be worth it. Significantly better/quieter than my Silent Spinner. I hope at some point this review will become obsolete and they start to include a wall mount. If that time ever comes, I hope people will post reviews saying they got a wall mount when they bought it. Hamsters have trouble holding the wheel, so their paws slip a little on the plastic before it starts moving. It doesn't cause any major problems. What *caused* a big problem was that I had the wheel attached to the side of my cage and the hamsters had been trapped between the wheel and the cage on numerous occasions. And the last time the hamster was probably stuck all night, and in the morning he broke his paw. Do not mount them with the supplied bracket.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
