Connected to filtered water in RV

I bought a drinking water filter for my mobile home. I have a reverse osmosis system that I installed in my kitchen that has large screw-on containers and always seems to spill water when changing the filter. I didn't want it in my RV so I figured it would work fine. Now I don't understand why it is sold to filter all cold water, why do you need it? If you only drink water, it will last much longer. I clicked on the plastic T-connector in the RV's cold water line (1/2 inch CTS, which is 5/8 the OD. Don't get me started on all the crazy pipe sizes. CTS is the copper pipe size!). I got the T from Revain and it also includes a ride for about $10. You can get a T going in a copper wire cutting a small hole for house wiring. The plastic print on the T accepts 1/4" tubing and the filtered water fitting (from HD) takes 1/4" so I have 2 levels down (1/4 to 3/8) from HD for $4 each bought to connect his. . You'll need some 1/4 inch tubing that I had. Everything is connected, no leaks. But I have to use it on several trips to see the taste of the water.

Pros
  • SIX MONTHS FILTER LIFE - Use these filters for up to six months at a time
Cons
  • The list goes on.
