When used in an 8-core AMD FX-8300 processor, temperatures are typically below 30ยฐC. Pretty quiet. 4 heatpipes dissipate the CPU heat well. The Silencio fan included in the kit is a bit thick, there wasn't enough space between the cooler and the memory chips to install it. I had to put it on the other side. The fan is a high static pressure fan, but not very quiet. (This is _not_ Noctua). I'll probably swap the fan for a Noctua. In particular, the fasteners for the fans were difficult to handle. I'm trying to put a side in the blinds, and the cooler is already installed on the processor. You (depending on how you mount it) may not be able to put a fan on it before installing the heatsink. The mounting hardware for the AMD F3+ socket is mediocre. You can get it to work with a little persuasion/force (the mounting screw holes are slightly offset). When I plugged the Silencio 4-pin fan header into the CPU fan header, the fan only rotated at 300-400 RPM and I got very poor CPU cooling. I had to connect it to the sys1 fan header to spin it high enough to actually cool the CPU. OTOH, the sys1 port made the case fan spin at 2000rpm which was very loud. I tried another case fan (with low static pressure) and it wasn't too loud in the Sys1 slot. The problem case fan was another fan with high static pressure, a thermal sensor that had ripped off the water cooler's heatsink. But the Silencio (which is supposed to be a CPU fan) doesn't spin fast enough when plugged into the CPU socket, which is unforgivable. All CPU fan headers on the motherboard (and fan headers) are 4-pin. It was on an MSI motherboard. Fortunately, 2000 rpm was optimal for the Silencio processor. It still runs fairly quietly and cools the processor well. In the end I connected the case fan to the CPU fan socket and the CPU fan (Silencio) to the Sys1 header. A bit trite, but in the end I got normal cooling and an acceptable noise level. A less adventurous OTOH user may end up with a very noisy or under-cooled system.
