My baby's sports photos are no longer blurry!

Background: I am not a professional photographer. I'm not a beginner either - I have a DSLR and several different lenses. After all, I am also a mother and it has always been difficult for me to get clear pictures of my children in motion. I've played with the settings, studied, read, practiced and tried many, many times. I'm still disappointed in the photos I took when my kids were playing/running/not kids anymore. Pros: This lens was my first real "investment" lens and it has made a huge difference in my photographic results! Now I'm consistently getting 100x better images than before. (One such example from one of my fools is included in this review.) The photos are sharp, clear, fast, and vibrant. It's easy to put the lens on the camera. This is my first non-Canon lens and the quality is quite satisfactory and seems on par with my other lenses. The included case is well made and so far has protected the lens even after a few drops (oops!), and the included lens hood fits perfectly. Being able to drop down to that 2.8 is INCREDIBLE for beautiful bokeh, shallow depth of field and ability to capture fast movement. Cons: The lens is *heavy*. I have small delicate hands and my hand hurts if I use this lens on my camera for too long. I highly recommend investing in a monopod as well to still support this mammoth when you're not using a tripod. Being so huge, I have a hard time putting the camera in my regular camera bag with this lens attached. (This isn't actually a flaw/issue with the lens, more of a compromise for what you're getting. But something to keep in mind when using it). - A professional amateur coupled with some camera know-how can help you create great photos. :)
