We recently parted with our large cat tree as it was scratched to death (although that's part of the deal). This time we chose something more compact for our cat. She loved him from the start. We put it close enough to the fireplace for her to rest in a hammock but not too hot. She uses a notebook and plays with hanging toys every day. One area they are less interested in is the enclosed shelter at the bottom of the unit. We think she'll get through this at her own pace.
