I don't actually use it as a night light in the traditional sense. I have a visual impairment that makes it almost impossible to use my night vision, allowing me to navigate my home mostly blind. These lights are very bright, I have placed them in several areas of my house where I always have to plug and unplug things on a daily basis. They work great, I just plug it into an outlet over an extension cord that I keep plugging and unplugging (I move my laptop charger around the house with my laptop). I used to have connection problems, but with this bright light I no longer have connection problems and I no longer have to feel for the outlet with my fingers to try to plug something in. I don't use an ambient light sensor with these headlights, so I don't know how well they work.
