I can't speak to durability and strength yet as I only installed it in my car 10 minutes ago, but on first sight and to the touch I think it was worth the money. I have a '17 Nissan Rogue S and wanted to protect the rear cargo area from my dogs. I didn't trim anything as I wanted it to rise a bit on the sides in case of a crash. So what you see in the photo will be obtained without any cuts. At least in any vehicle with a Rogue-sized cargo bed.
