Poor stability of braces, splints and braces

The "splint" of this item is firm and well padded, but overall the product does not keep the splinted toe straight. First the straps, which are elastic. They stretch and shift during use, even when worn at night, to allow the finger to move. Second, the rail section is too short to stabilize the joint involved in the trigger finger - the strap that wraps around the palm sits directly over the joint, causing more pressure than stability. I found that the only way to get it to work was to stick a tongue depressor in the splint to stabilize my finger from palm to fingertip. but in this case you could just use tape and a tongue depressor in the first place for best results. I would not recommend it.
